Jessica Lynn Taylor Ph.D. has dedicated her life to personal growth and developing others. She is passionate about the transformation of people and organizations through simple and proven methods. She works at Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon as the Vice President of Diversity and Inclusive Development. As a graduate of SIT Graduate Institute (MA, International Education) and the University of British Columbia (BA, History), Mariko Gilman's training philosophy is grounded in experiential and adult learning theory, with an emphasis on the development of effective intercultural communication. Nearly a decade of working in the international education sector has deepened her passion for developing effective multicultural teams and taught me invaluable lessons about working across difference
Course Description
This course explores the personal experiences of two mixed raced women navigating the world of diversity, equity and inclusion training. You’ll dive into current inclusive language around the topic of mixed-race individuals as well as learn some key things to avoid as you navigate conversations around race. Balancing the academic and personal, you’ll leave with an insider perspective to mixed race identity from two women that walk the path and lead in these difficult and nuanced conversations.
